It depends

An f6 660cc with turbo for a suzuki jimny had just arrived in Cinco this week and ask them if I can put it in my carry van. My mechanic told me it was a front wheel drive set up so it won't work plus they were selling it for 25k. Yikees!:eek:

But it all depends if the sj410 has the same engine and transmission mounting with your van otherwise you will be spending a lot for engine modification. I've heard that you can put up a toyota 4k engine or 5k engine on the carry van with a hiace transmission. But you also have to modify your rear brake and probably replace it with a disk brakes since you will increasing your engine's horsepower and your current drum brake might not hold.

Thanks for the info man! like what i said i am not planning to replace my engine. Im just planning to buy a service manual (im a trying hard mechanic). and the only available on ebay is for SJ410 so if i will buy it i want to make sure its the same service manual for my F10A engine. Cant wait to see you replace your engine with one of that turbo's or those bigger one. i can almost see that smile of satisfaction in your face. =)

Thanks again.

Hi there im still yet to buy it. i was late for bidding on the one i saw in ebay. the owner is from UK. YT suggested is should make arrangements with Nat Bookstore or Powerbooks to have them order it for me. Ill let you know.

does your van have the 1000cc engine?

by the way, what are the odds of us creating a group or something? perhaps we can meet once a month to check our vans? compare notes? scratch each other back?? :D

let me know.

i saw that manual too. someone from uk bought if for 5.5 euro. i'll also check with the local suzuki dealers here if they have.
my engine has 4 cyc and displacement of 1000 cc. bought the van two weeks ago.
having a group would be a good idea. i welcome sharing of notes and ideas. it will save a lot of time, effort, and money if we could share our experiences.

i have one just last weekend. i have humming sound (not high pitched) that comes up whenever the van is in motion. the sound gets faster and louder as the vehicle moves faster. but it becomes really loud when ever im about to stop.

i've had the vehicle checked at servitek timog. diagnosis was broken wheel bearings of the front wheels and axle bearings of the rear. was quoted around 6,500 pesos. i had the bearing replaced at G araneta for only 4,200. the brearing replacement however did not solve/eliminate the humming sound.
i've asked around and learned that the cross joint could be the culprit. i'll have it checked tomorrow.

Mine had similar problem but im pretty sure its one of the bearings in front - because i dismantle it myself (i only hear the sound when turning on curves so i have a prior clue it could be the bearings) my only problem is i do not have those 'press' machinnes they use to remove/replace bearings so what i did is buy it in Araneta for P600 and have it done at CRUVEN. they also replaced the bushings. im satisfied with their service plus it is chaep, only ost me 2K+ for parts and labor. they specialize in under-chasis works. they their mechanics are accomodating. i suggest you pay them a visit. they offer warranty and free estimates.

mga bros, there is no difference between an sj410 and sk410. ang mga vans natin dito, according to my user's manual (which is still alive luckily) is an sk410, according to my or/cr...and yup, f10a engine ito.

some additional infos: the new super carry, este bravo engine and electrical parts DO NOT FIT our vans. why, for 2 reasons: una, the shaft of the newer one is a bit smaller, so definitely yung differential and other moving parts iba na rin...second, parang hybrid f10a ang makina na ng bravo. half-mechanical and half-efi...compare nyo sa mga vans natin w/c is purely mechanical.

bro ding, hopefully national book store would buy that one. :D keep us posted :D

hi sj410, sali ka rin sa club namin at Welcome to Club Carry Philippines!. see you there!
