Hi,

I have a spanish 1998 3dr cabrio vitara (jx I think). Engine G16AS. I went to buy u joints and the guy there gave me a set according to their catalogue which later I found out they where bigger than mine. They did replaced them no worries but I was wondering if there are two types of propeller shafts for the same model as I would like to have the one with the bigger u joints. Any information would be great.

Rear prop shaft that is!

Thanks

There are different models for these cars, different engines, different spline counts, etc. The best way to source parts is often to research first before going to your local auto parts store. It's unlikely that you can mix and match prop shafts, as they are specific to the spline count. A good place to look up parts is the partsouq.com catalog, which also lists part numbers that you can reference with your local auto parts store.

Suzuki changed the propshaft around 96, you should have the later type with the smaller spline count.
