I am really not sure what the true name of it is...but it is frayed!!!

I am wondering what will happen if I let it disconnected and how hard it is to replace. It was noticed when I had to clean my EGR valve. It was just put back together today after sitting for about a month apart.

It is driving me crazy...I need my SUV back!!!

Please help!!!

Thanks in advance...

Kick down cable - I believe you need to get into the transmission to release the end - without it, you'll probably find the transmission does not downshift when you step on the gas, could possibly create some risky situations.

Thank you. That is kind of what I figured. I was told by someone else not to drive it without the cable on because it can really mess up the transmission.

I am going to try to replace it..the problem I am having is I cannot find where it goes into the tranny to remove it, but if I have to drop the pan I will take it somewhere to be done. I really don't want to mess around with all of that.

I am just frustrated with it right now..I love my SUV but it is driving me crazy!!!
