Not really much to go on. Does the ignition switch not disconnect the coil when you switch off. Assuming it still has a 1300 petrol engine.
If it runs on a little it may be the fuel cut off solenoid not working.

Engine fitted ?
Carb or injection ?
Year ?
Country ?

Funny enough my 1300 does the same thing.

Well i recently put on an rpm gauge which i hooked up to the coil and when i switch off the ignition the gauge still shows the rpm so im guess it doesnt disconnect the coil when i switch off?

i put the tacho on after the problem started. Well the instructions said put it on the neg but i did that and got nothing, put it on the positive and it worked. Maybe thats where the problem lies? My temporary fix is a switch on my fuel pump relay. Takes about 15 seconds or so to die and cut off. I tell people its a turbo timer.
