So I've searched and didn't see any real instructions on this...or that it's possible but can one replace the shift knob on an '07 Forenza, auto tranny? I know you can on a manual.

So I got it to come off by unscrewing the silver collar and just pulling it off. Would a universal one be the best bet? Or do I need a specific type?

hi if its auto you need to get the universal style thats held on with screws around the bottom. not one that screws onto the shifter itself because there are no threads on the shifter

Gotcha, I found one from American Shifter. Looks like it just slides on and you use an allen key to lock it in place.

Appreciate the help!
