Vehicle: SX4, EU specs, 1,6 man, 2013,160 000 kms.
Problem: Rear differential drive shaft flange seal leaking.
Fix: I am not a big fan of temporary repair solutions, but this is for those who may find this interesting.
The fix is AT-205, leak sealer from ATP Automotive.
I have used it for a snow blower auger gear leakage and it works. So why not try it on my car. After the treat, I have driven 500 kms and it works. Let's see how long.
The AT-205 bottle content is 8 Oz. (236 ml.) which treats 6 qts. So I added 30 ml. The differential capacity is 0,7-0,9 liters. For injection, I used a hypo from a bike store.

Thats a temp fix at best, all it does is soften and swell the seals slightly.

I agree. A proper repair can be seen on a youtube video by volvosweden. I'll let you know how long this temporary fix will work.

I found a video from zmanvideo1. Have a look. There is a technical service bulletin TS0492916 about a new flange and a new seal. If I got it right it's for North America. I'll ask my dealer if it is for other markets aswell.
