Hi Guys.
I just purchased a 2005 Ignis from a second hand dealer.
After a couple of days behind the wheel i have noticed 2 issues.

1) Once i press or release the clutch pedal i hear a little rattling noise from the gear box, i suspected the clutch release bearing but the dealer say if it's the release bearing the noise should also be there while the pedal is pressed, but it's only when the pedal is travelling.
Does the Ignis clutch tend to have this noise?

2) If i rev the enigne a bit, to ex. 3000rpm and release the gas pedal the engine is very slow to drop to idle, it fairly quiclky drops to 1500rpm but it can take up to 30 seconds to return to 7-800rpm.
any ideas of the cause of this fault?
It also idle quite high at cold start aprox. 2000rpm, is this normal?

All answers highly appreciated and i apologize for my poor english :)

Car dealer is correct, release (Thrust) bearing has pressure on it and is spinning only when pedal is pressed. Noise could be other minor or major problem.

The revs problem you described is a problem and is probably the reason it was traded to a car dealer - it has a problem!

Thanks for your fast reply 2000IGNIS.
Well noted about the Clutch problem.
Regarding the idle issue i'll try to hook up my Mobil Scan diagnostic tool and check for any error codes or sensors out of range.
If i can't find the cause the dealer has to deal with it :)
It's a 1,3 VVT engine, do you know the correct idle settings at cold and warm engine?
