Just wondered if its normal to have a front prop shaft on a Sj Samurai 1.3i 1994 that is oval shaped. You can clearly see when you turn it by hand using something as a reference point? This looks like what was causing my car to vibrate above 30mph.

Also changed belts, did tappits (still noisy :( ) and now have gained a noise. It sounds like its a bearing like alternator. but we had the belts off etc couldnt see anything. It did it at 1.5k revs, then i loosened the belt and it did it at 1k and around 3k (maybe higher couldnt hear) The sound can be felt in most places on the engine, just wondering if anyone has any ideas? Something to do with the injection system maybe?

Also is it normal to have a loud rattle when in 5th gear, transfer case in neutral ? Also does the noise when driving below 2k rpm. Could someone with a 413 try for me? Sorry for the list of problems, thanks in advance.

Mine has a number or rattles and noises from front to rear. (Rolling it added a few more sounds too.) Even after I rebuilt my tranny the tranny still has a rattle sound in it. Although I must say that now after I reinstalled my transfer case it has considerably less noise. I found that the front drive shaft bolts were on only finger tight. I didn't even have to use a wrench to remove any of the bolts. I think the last time I worked on the Sammy I forgot to torque down the front drive shaft bolts. How they didn't fall out is a mystery to me!
