Did some wheeling with the big boys at the lake, dry sandstone terrain, and my passanger had to hold the transfer shifter to keep in from popping out of 4WD Low, is this normal when climbing or do I have a problem, didn't happen on the beach...

Thanks!

Their is a plastic piece called a shifter sheet where the stick meets
the transfercase, you need to unbolt the boot, pull the stick and
replace shifter sheet.

Is the lock bolt still in the shift lever ?
If it breaks or falls out it will not stay in gear.
Could be the problem.
Usually when the shift sheet goes it gets stuck in neutral or between the lo/hi location.
Changing both sheet and bolt could cheap fix it.

I am having this problem too but with my investigating. I feel like the boot is interfering with the shift lever. I took it off to look at the bushing but found that it stays in 4 Low with the boot out of the way. I have not thought of or found a fix.
