Hi there

I live on a small island in caribbean and have what is identified as a 1996 Suzuki Samurai.

There is no VIN number on frame on drivers side.

There is however a plaque on the inner bonnet which shows the chassis number, engine and then a seperate number that has no reference.

From my initial investigations it seems unlikely its a 1996 model as the spec does not seem to fit.

the details on the plaque are:

chassis: SJ80-100146
Engine: G13B
Unidentified number undeneatrh above: JME524A01

I need a replacement water pump which is why i am trying to find out this info.

Any help would really be appreciated

Danny

from my extremely limited experience a water pump for the G13B engine hasn't changed... if you could post a picture I'm sure the other forum members could verify that. I own an 86-87 Samurai from the US and a 98 Samurai that was made for the global export market (with factory coil springs). Both have the G13B engine and so far all the parts from the 86 engine match exactly the 98.

That may not help in other areas where it would be good to know the year of manufacture but at least in this case you should be ok.
