Paint ruined by heatwave.

My 993cc 1999 Alto is something of a timewarp as it's only done 11000 miles since new and is or was immaculate. It had no MOTs done between 2008 and 2018 meaning that it was probably sat in a garage and the paint was the original slightly dark red. Well, thanks to the heatwave that is no longer the case as the paint on the roof and bonnet have now gone pinkish and lost their sheen. The paint looks to be going the way of old, red Vauxhalls that you occasionally see where the paint is completely matt and flaky looking. My question is has anyone else had this and can anything be done pls? It was Ok and had survived perfectly the past 22 years but being cooked this summer has spoiled my Alto's appearance.

Yep. It's just old paint that has suffered the ravages of time. Only proper prep and re-paint will bring her back to look like new. ;)

There are no magic finish restoration products to apply in this case.
