my 1600 8v samurai (with vitara g16a engine) has oversize piston up to half a mm, wat cc wud dat take it to? how much power does it bring it up to? where is da best place to get oversize rings? is there a place dat can make the rings according to my specs. thanks guys

1: sit down and calculate the increase in capacity. (new volume minus old volume equals the increase in capacity.) volume = pi x radius squared x height, which in this case will be 3.14 x piston radius squared x stroke
2: power increase will be negligible, maybe 1 or 2 hp
3: from an engine reconditioner supplier
4: probably, but it wouldn't be economical, oversize rings are easy to get from any engine reconditioner.

Stock bore of 73.9mm
Stock stroke of 77mm
Gives a displacement of 1321.0812CC

Giving "half a mm" of bore increase (pretty technical stuff there! lol!)
yields a new displacement of 1339.0183CC.

Difference of 17.9CC.

Since you didn't state any change in compression, I would figure it as same as stock. Sorry you won't feel any difference.

Normally it takes roughly 20 HP to get a "butt-o-meter" feel of difference.
I can't remember off the top of my head, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that it's something like 15 - 17CC = 1 HP...and that's BHP (brake horse power, or crank horse power), so with parasitic loss, it's less than that.

I take it you're aware that a naturally aspirated Suzuki G13 is capable of delivering over 100 bhp?

I'm not arguing that it's possible. Absolutely not. I was just trying to answer the original question of how much of a gain.

The question was how much was gained by a half mm oversized piston.
And when that is the ONLY change....IE, compression is same, stroke is the same, cam is same, didn't port anything...yada yada, the gain is going to be extremely minimal. That was all I was saying.

I don't know how tough the Zuk block is yet. But since I've seen a few places that only build it up TO that 100HP, obviously there are some issues. But from a 4cyl perspective, long ago I built up a Honda engine (B18B1) from 142BHP (stock) to 250FWHP NA as a daily driver (And that is as you know, NOTHING). So I KNOW it's possible to do.

I wasn't referring to a "built" engine - you can get well over 100 bhp that way - Suzuki had G13s that delivered in excess of 100bhp right out of the dealership - and yes - the block is the same.

A G16A is 75mm bore x 90mm stroke. 75.5x90 gives you 1612cc. You aren't likely to feel the difference in the extra capacity but a rebuilt motor should be more powerful anyway.

You should be able to feel a difference of as little as 5% which is only 4bhp on an 8V - 20bhp would be a massive 25% power increase. The G16A was available in a 16V version which was 96bhp, not far off 100bhp.

They put a twin cam head on it, Fordem is referring to the G13B engine used in the Swift GTi.
There was also the G13BB engine which had a single OHC head, the equivalent of the G16B 16V engine. The G13BB was rated at around 83bhp, about the same as the G16A but with a lot less torque.
In my opinion the best way to get over 100bhp is a mildly tweaked G16B, on my 413K I am replacing the G16A with a G16B from a Baleno, running a remappable Jimny ECU.
