When I picked up my 88.5, it had a 3" spring lift from Calmini. This was an OME spring set with aftermarket shocks, sway bar lowering brackets and bump stop pads (relocators).
This was a really decent kit, but I snapped leafs when I ran the vehicle over washboard roads for 2 years... (daily driver to work). They called it abuse.

Ok, now for you guys that have tryed the OME leaf springs, i have a heavy duty front bumper should i get the extra leaf for the front or not and just stay with the medium duty leaf springs with the extra leaf!

That depends what you mean by 'heavy'.
If you mean just an aftermarket bumper, then go with an additional leaf and see where it levels out. If you mean a full size bull bar with a winch, then yes, start with the hd set all around and then add a stout rear bumper with swing-away tire carrier to even it out.

Well i know the bumper is not stock, when i bought it it came with a tow bar, I was talking to charles over at OME and he was saying sience most of the weight was up in front go with the medium load spring and add a leaf in the front only.If i could figure out ow to insert a picture of my sammy to show what she looks like!

To post a picture you have to have the picture out there on the web already and then you post a link to it. If you want- just email it to me and I'll post it for you. Also mention whether you plan to upgrade your bumpers later as it will be something to consider when looking at suspension changes.

Here are the pix that Hoopy sent:

From the looks of the current ride height, it looks like the weight of the custom bumper is not effecting anything. I would replace all four spring packs with identical sets.

Nice Sammy!

Thanks agian Bill,

So you think just do the medium duty without the extra leaf spring will be do, i guess after all said and done i can allways go back and add a leaf to the front if for some reason i need too!

Thank Bill for your help!

If you have any plans to go with heavier bumpers, tire carrier or winch, I would go with the HD set. But if you are going to leave it like it sits the medium duty will be fine.

Ok i got another question, after i get all the OME leaf springs and shocks on do you take off the sway bar? What will this do to the ride?

The sway bar doesn't doo much for a stock Samurai, even when given a slight lift. If you leave it on, it will keep the body a little stiffer in the corners but most folks never notice the difference. The kit I had also came with drop brackets for the front of the bar so that you can retain it.
If you remove it and then go offroad you will notice that the vehicle is able to articluate better which keeps the tires on the ground more - giving you more control.
When I built the 'Stalker', I left it on so that I could take corners harder when I made more power with the massaged engine.

Basically, with the lift you are adding it really doesn't matter.
