My wifes SUV has been getting noisy. Sound seemed to be right rear and although no play I changed out the wheel bearing to no avail. Today I though I might try a heavier diff fluid to isolate the rear differential. As soon as I pulled the drain plug I knew I found my problem. Magnet was packed with metal and had glitter over everything. So now I need to tear into it. Anyone know if the ring and pinion from a 1999 Grand Vitara would bolt into the 2013 carrier? Same gear ratio? Canadian Source for parts? Should I start junk yard searches? Thanks

Extremely unlikely - the 1999 GVs are live axle rears, the 2013s are IRS - I suggest a junk yard search. Make sure you have the vehicle details, you know, stuff like engine size & transmission type - it make a difference.

My 1999 Grand Vitara with IFS used the same hubs and bearings from my 1986 Suzuki SJ413. Its definitely a stretch though.
