No throttle response when in traffic.

I have a 2013 suzuki swift 1.2 cvt. Sometimes when I'm in traffic, the throttle doesn't respond after I fully come to a stop. Once I switch off and on the car, everything reverts to normal. I recently cleaned the throttle body and it still happened. After it happened, I cleaned the maf sensor but I haven't been in traffic since then. Could it be my tps going bad and how about the pedal?

No engine check lamp on when it happens?
No engine check lamp on when it happens?
No check engine light so I don't know.
No check engine light so I don't know.
What does this mean? That there is no check engine light fitted?

A 2013 Swift will have a check engine light fitted when it leaves the factory - it should light during the "lamp test" when the ignition is first switched on before the engine starts and go out after the engine has started - if it remains on it means the ECU has detected a fault with the engine management systems and there is a code that needs to be read.

If you don't get the check engine light coming on during lamp test, your first task is to find out why & fix that.

I think you totally misread that comment. Question was asked if the check engine light comes on when the event happens and the answer was no. Not that there is no check engine light fitted.

Ah, no, I agree with fordem.
I thought the same thing.
It reads like - "I have no check lamp so I don't know if it is coming on or not".
However, since a lot of people on here don't know "de englesh" so well, I assumed he meant it didn't come on rather than not having one.
A simple "no" would have avoided any confusion.

I find "de englesh" comment offensive but never the less, all is well. I apologize for any mix up. Please don't let us get distracted with this. All I want is advice. Thanks

Apologies if offense was taken, my sense of humor is an acquired taste and wasn't targeted wholly at you but in generalizing MANY very hard to understand postings on all forums.
A clogged fuel filter will not guarantee the timely supply of the required amount of fuel. The driver can depress the accelerator pedal, and all throttle components may require the correct amount of fuel, but the pump faces resistance at the filter and cannot let oil flow through the engine.

I am having the same problem with my 2013 Suzuki Swift. No issues when driving normally but if I have been in traffic for a while, I start having issues moving off after I come to a stop. I have to pump gas several times or shift between gears before the vehicle responds. The problem will reoccur intermittently until I park and turn off the vehicle. After turning back on, car works normally again. My mechanic has suggested getting a throttle body servicing, will do that and see if it solves the problem.

Did you get it sorted? Mines doing the same
Even though there is no MIL illuminated, it would be advisable to check if there are any "Pending" codes..

Checked mine only code was for air conditioning
How did you resolve the issue? I have a 1300 cc 2013 swift as well with same issue. I have cleaned the entire fuel system, changed plugs, MAF and CVT fluid.

Have you fixed it? I'm having the same problem
Time to find someone with a decent scanner, the fact that it returns to normal on reboot indicates it has a fault.

Pending, history or freeze frame, you need to investigate..
mine got same issue. i had shell unleaded and i was getting those problem... when i come to a complete stop... pedal to the floor car rpm wont increase it stays idle... problm was the gas.... the car goes into a protect mode when knocking is detected thus u have to put in nutral or park turn off the car... restart it and then go....happens usally on hot days... i changed the place i put gas in Mauritius here we have total or engen... the swift requires 91 octane... since then no problem... my wtsap is +23058141533.inbox for any issues.. i know those swift 2nd 3rd 4th gen (including sport model) in my finger tips
Having some intermittent issues with a 2013 Suzuki swift. Similar problem. When I give gas, sometimes the car does not respond. When I switch off and restart the engine, everything is back to normal. 2 days ago I also realized that there is no response in D and R but If I shift to N it revs. I can hear and feel the transmission (cvt) select the various gears. When I shut down and restart went back to normal. Has anyone found a fix to this issue?
