Here is my situation I have an 86' Tin-Top stock!!!
The sami started to overheat once I changed the thermostat. I bleed the system
and now it runs normal temp at idle but when I drive, it overheats and forces the antifreeze out the reservoir, should I change the thermostat again maybe is defective, Or maybe I need a new head gasket?

These are all the parts i have replaced:

Thermostat
Upper and lower Radiator hose
Fresh antifreeze
Radiator Cap

It could be an air-lock, try running the engine with the radiator cap off until the thermostat opens and see if any air comes out.

Could be time for a tune up as well,Do check for airlock 1st!.That cost me a head gasket and a weekends fun . I did how ever learn how too do a head
Timing has a lot to do with how hot she runs. mine was getting hot ,but i timed it by ear .was retarded & running hot, I re timed it and dropped the idle .Now she is sweet hardly cracks operating temp.
