hello guys...

Needing your help regarding Wiring diagram for power steering...

I brought last FEB a complete kit with module (the set is the same as that for the van) to be installed on my carry pickup truck ....this is a DIY project..... and found a luxury of time last Holy Week to have it cleaned and analyzed.... I compared it to the system in my van and found the same....

I traced the wire flow for the power steering on my van and mapped them... I just dont know if the wiring system is the same on pick-up 4x4 trucks, where the steering wheel controls have no INtermittent wiper ....

Two questions herewith:

1. The wiper motor on pickup truck has 4-wires and is the same as with the van also..

Is there a need to replace the wiper motor on the pickup truck in order for the intermittent wiper to work once the assembly will be replaced with that with the power steering module?

Or is there a module separate to the motor that control the intermittent mode?

2. The big wires (black-blue-green-red, etc) for the power steering from the steering assembly leading to the PS module (2-socketted module) is intact and plugged to the module (seems no problem with this in the installation on pickup trucks).

On the Van, in the other socket of the PS module, there are 2 small wires that lead to the cluster meter, and the other wire (colored black with silver stripes) branched out to the P/S fusebox, to the beeper line (same wire color) and another branch (same color) leading to ???? (maybe to the ignition coil .. i dont know).

Another small wire also terminates to a big socket (the socket with wires traversing under the floor to the engine)..



NOW.. WHERE WILL THE ABOVE-DESCRIBED WIRES BE CONNECTED ON THE WIRINGS FOR PICKUP TRUCKS FOR THE POWER STEERING TO WORK ?? or it will be the same... The panel for my pickup truck has an integrated RPM while the van has none..

i will post the pics once the system will be installed and work....

I attach a file for the connection of my power steering unit for my van.
But the system for my PS is not connected the the motor wiper as what you have said. PS system for my VAN is a separate system except for the connection of the speed signal from the panel which makes the PS steering a little more tight on the wheel during high speed (40-100kph).

Hoping that we have the same system so that i can help you with your concerns.

The attachment i made is just a simple line to line connection of the P.S. from supply to panel connection so the wiring color identification is not specified.

Hoping this we help you in your DYI.

BTW. How much did you purchased your P.S. Kit?

thanks jadd....

will just install the kit this coming saturday for my pickup truck.... i will study the connections of the small 4 wires coming from the PS box where i dont know its terminations....

cost of the steering wheel set including PS module with fusebox connected is 5K, installment....

BTW, the steering wheel lever set has the intermittent wiper.. i will check if it will work to my truck once connected...the original on my truck has no intermittent wiper lever..... i will post the pics of the installation once completed.... thanks a lot

Hi red,

We will wait for the final set-up of your truck, btw do we have the same panel with tacho? The color blue is the connector for the panel where the connection for the 4 wire from the ps box is connected.

yes, my panel has integrated RPM... kindly send also the pics of your instrument panel (front and back)

im absent at work today and i took the time to replace the steering set assembly with that with PS.... the connection from the steering wheel wire set is direct plug-on to the existing sockets (2-big one and 1-small 2-terminal white socket... same wiring set with the old steering assy.), and the existing wiper now worked with intermittent mode without replacing the wiper and its wires... the intermittent mode controller is already integrated on the new steering set assembly...

i will install the PS module these coming days and i will take the pics ... i cleaned-up the PS module, removed its fold down bracket by boring with power drill, and readying the new brackets today as i will install it between the brake fluid reservoir and the steering wheel, same to what i did in my van, in order to be safe and free from body contact, dashboard contact, and moisture...

i readied the wire set for the PS module where i will plug the green big wire (to PS fuse) and the black/white wire (to IG-COIL fuse) on the existing fuse box (same wire route in my van, with the existing terminal of the big green wire pulled out on the fuse box included in the assembly that i purchased)..... only the 4-small wires from the black terminal socket of the PS module are the one to be connected based on the pics that you sent...

there is a need also to pull out the inside parts of the ignition key assembly in order that the previous key assembly will be still utilized....

on the pics that i will take, you can also see the AC assembly that i made to my truck using suk original parts (no local item)....

pls send your email add thru PM as i will send also the pics for the modification that i made to my truck on the following, for your reference:

1. diagram of the stand-alone auto/manual mode system to activate the radiator fan...
2. pics of AC modification using orig suk parts, air handling unit, with integrated original idle-up and orig thermo sensor at engine to trigger AC shutdown if engine overheats...
3. center-post modification using bearings (drawings only as i have no pics)....
4. pics of suspension lifter modification using suk original shock mounts....
5. pics of strut bar bracket and front suspension cross member modification using orig parts....

pics of the bushing modification to the suspension arm using Grade-C engineering plastic is already posted in the forum....

you will enjoy it doing DIY at least cost

My EPS does not have a play or clearance. looked over for a fix, have you come across this problem?

Jadd, I have a carry DA52T with an EPS (electric power steering), did you ever come across a power steering with no play or clearance. If you did, what was your solution? Thanks

. The lower part is cut off, the lower red wire goes from the lower left in the connector to the red in the circle on the right.
