Well, I'm pretty sure now I know why I had a clunking noise coming from the rear and why my oil seal went out! Here are some of the "bearings" I pulled out of the axle housing.

The new bearings looks different. Can anyone please tell me which way they go in? One side of the bearing is flat and the other side the center sticks out. Which side faces into the axle housing?

i just done mine a couple of months ago. in the photo that you can see your hammer head properly. the left hand side is the flat its a little plate that seals the bearings on mine it went on facing the inside of the diff be very careful not to damage that little plate when installing the bearing race on the axle it pops off and you cant get it back on. i put my bearings onto the axle with a peice of railway line, hammer, and a long peice of pipe that just fits over the axle. you have to keep it all nice and square so it goes on nice and easy.
