Hi,

On my 98 sidekick, two door, the driverside window regulator quit working. So today I had a chance to investigate and it appears that the cable that lowers the windownhas come out. Is there a way to fix it, or will I need to just replace it? Who has a cheap used one?

Thanks,

Stuart

Frankly, it's easier to replace it - it is possible to fix, perhaps, if the cable has come out at the very end...maybe. You can usually find one cheap enough in a junkyard. Just remember that you need the regulator for the 2 door (4 door will not work) and the driver's side. There are instructions on how to install them on the forum - you will find that it is important to balance the glass just so on the track that it sits on - if it is off balance, the window glass will come up at an angle, so you will need to do some trial and error with it.

Hmmm....I got 2 from a junkyard for $20 total ($10 each) and they've lasted about 5 years so far. I guess it's somewhat of a crapshoot....;)
