Replaced the knob on a 2007 SX4 5-speed manual. The after-market replacement came with a few different threaded inserts, one of which worked. The OEM knob was difficult to get off, but it was years ago, so I don't remember more than that.
The shaft is threaded. I remember breaking the OEM knob in the removal processes. It was years ago...
It may have been glued on. I just don't remember, sorry.
I do not remember trying to warm it though, like with a hair drier. If there is an adhesive the heat may help to soften it.
I took a look at Amazon, to see if I had a link to the knob I installed, in my order history.
I purchased my replacement knob back in 2016, which can still be found on Amazon.
I do not recommend this particular knob. It gets very hot in a black car in the summer.
I also purchased a knob with lettering, but my daughter prefers the blank one so I never installed it.
I bought a 2011 SX4 new in Barbados, right hand drive. It has been trouble free. It started making a noise when turning. I thought I should check the fluid and it doesn’t have a reservoir as it is electric power steering. Any advice what I should be doing next?
Been awhile since I reported in. Have a 2008 SX4 Crossover with 66,000 miles. Has been a real good car so far; no major probs. The Yokohama Y520 that I put on at 37K have improved the way it handled. Gas mileage stays around 24-25 in town and 26-28 on highway doing 70-75. It did drop to 20.3 mpg...
Anybody checked valve clearance and adjusted it if needed?
Is it complicated procedure and how much it mighr cost with dealer?

Does anyone know how to program 2009 SX4 smartkey? It's same as 2008 Grand Vitara. i stopped by locksmith at local DMV here, these guys program just about anything, and they don't yet have 2009. tried to use 2008 steps from programming book and it didn't work. appreciate any suggestions. thank you
