Hey guys,

Bought my brother 1988 Samurai with a bad head gasket. Bought a head gasket and went to install it, I noticed the cams were F****d (to say the least). INCLUDING the rockers. I luckily had a faily new head/cam/rockers in my garage, so I used that. I went and swaped the fuel pump over and everything went fine. But now it won't run at all. I went back and checked to make sure the timing was correct and I found the distributor rotor was in the wrong direction. I fixed that and still nothing!

I tracked it down and it is most definately fuel. Is there a hack to "prime" the fuel pump?

I need some advice please!

I have added pics as well to show the head gasket problem.

I am 80% sure it is. LOL I will be checking tonight when I get home.
I have seen other posts about a cam lobe being for the pump alone? Is that true?

So I did see the push rod was NOT there. I installed it and now I have fuel!!!

But it won't start.. Just keeps cranking and after about 3 seconds of crank it starts to sputter and feel like it is gonna start. But doesn't ):

I know the timing is correct and I pulled each spark plug and I have spark..

Any ideas?!
Please!!

*UPDATE*

It was the darn fuse.. I didn't even think to check for some reason, but the ignition fuse was blown. I replaced and it fired right up.

Thanks again guys for the advice!
