I have a 94 Tracker 4x4 that I need to replace the lower ball joints on. I've got the ball joint separated and the bolts removed but the front axle going into the hub is in the way and I can't get the ball joint out. Can I replace them without having to remove front axle which goes into the hub?

On a Sidekick, you do not need to disassemble the locking hubs. (I understand the ones on Sammi's have to be... but the front end is different on those.)

Anyway, Remove the locking hubs (auto or manual) and there should be a clip under them holding the CV joint in. Remove the clip and the CV joint should slide "in" and out the backside. You might not even need to fully remove the axle.

Worked awesome. I removed the allan key bolts with a 6mm allan key I cut down and put it into a 6mm socket, the hub came off, removed the snap ring and washer. Volia, the axle pushed out and I was able to get the ball joint out. Thanks guys.
