After 11K miles, and experience in winter spring and summer, I must say I LOVE my SX4 :) . This car is not perfect, but it is very good at most things and adequate at all others. What it does very well is provide quality AWD, fit, form and function in a unique, stylish package for a very affordable price. Mine is black, and I bought it from the showroom floor with selective options already attached to dress it up (matching checker-pattern panels for the interior doors, console and exterior trim, mini-bra on hood, mounting rails on the top, etc.). The ride is very smooth for such a small car. The engine does take some time to get the car up to speed (due to the weight) but it is strong through the upper register. Automatic transmission is very smooth. The fit of the vehicle inside and out is top notch. Japanese quality is evident in the construction. The design is clever; it positions most everything in a very convenient location. For such a small car I am able to carry cargo. With the back seats in place, the smaller hatch space allows plenty of room for groceries or shopping bags. With thr seats tumbled forward I've carried multiple suitcases and other cargo.

As an avid biker, I ordered two of the Mont Blanc bike racks from Suzuki for my car to go on the top rails. This works perfectly and allows us to keep from limiting access to the hatch. The AWD gets us into some of the more difficult terrain areas when conditions are not the best.

Gas mileage has averaged 26.8MPG overall. Not great but still acceptable for all the extras my car offers.

While the SX4 will never lead buying lists, I think it's a super vehicle that really delivers fun, functionality and performance with and edgy style! Regrets? I wish the model with the extra package of options (cruise control, keyless start) had been available when I purchased mine in December '06. Otherwise I am hopeful my SX4's long term reliability will prove to be as good as the early returns. I want to drive it till the odometer hits 200K!

PS - We are a Suzuki family. My wife owns a 2006 Grand Vitara, full option package, and loves it! The ride is a bit stiff, but the build and functional quality of the new line of Suzuki's shows in her's also. Keep up the good work Suzuki.

PSS - No, I am not an employee of Suzuki...far from it. I appreciate great value and performance for the money and feel our Suzuki's hit the mark.:D

I'm Jealous

:(

I am so sad. When the SX4 first came out I took for a test drive and fell in love with it.

Then a few months ago I decided to go get one. Dealership, ran my credit, finance, and general manager take a look at my credit and decide that I'll be able to qualify and gave me the car. I drove it for almost 4 weeks and fell more in love with it. The dealership gives me a call and tells me that they were able to get me qualified and that I need to come in to finish the paperwork. I verified that I qualified for the SX4, and allowed my self to love my car. I get there the next morning and they tell me that I can't get the SX4 but they'll put me in a Forenza. At this point I am needless to say I'm completely pissed of at this point. To make a long story short, I ended up with a Reno. Definitely not the SX4, but it grows on ya. So I'm Jealous and sad. Here's to the SX4, maybe next year I'll be able to upgrade and join you guys.

:(

Peace,

If you don't mind my asking, N8BHere, where in Arizona do you live? (I live in Sierra Vista, about a mile from Fort Huachuca.)

I wonder whether another Arizona Suzuki dealer would have treated you better....

Probably true. But both the ones in Phoenix are on the outskirts of town. The one I went to was the closest to me. But I got them good. The Reno Rtails for less tha 13500. I'm not even financing 13500. So I know that they are not making a penny off of me. Maybe in a year I'll just go to the other one to get my SX4. BTW if you want to know of the Phoenix Suzuki Dealership to avoid, AVOID AT ALL COSTS AVONDALE SUZUKI.

Tucson SX-4

I bought mine in Tucson in May 07 and I thought it was one of the smoothest car transactions I've had. I'm very happy with the SX-4.
I bought at the Suzuki place in-town on Speedway, but there's another dealership in south Tucson, by the airport that is running infomerical commercials for their dealership regularly on Comcast cable.

I'm just coming up on 3,000 miles and I think I'll got to the dealership for the first oil change.

I bought the AUX audio cable from Tim on these forumns and it works like a champ with my MP3 player.

I'm looking for a good trunk storage kit to keep groceries and things from spilling over in the trunk.

Cheers from Tucson.
