I have been able to drive up almost 3000 ft in elevation on my commute with 2008 SX4 in up to 12 inches of unplowed powder. (not wet snow which we don't get much of luckily). The sketching/super steep part required the differential lock. When my SX4 is done (hopefully not for a long time, 155K right now) are there any other cars, crossovers, small SUVs that come with a differential lock. Thanks.

Well there is no such thing as a "differential" lock with the AWD SX4. THe "lock" button locks up the central coupler that then delivers power to the rear wheels. THe coupler, though, is indeed bolted on to the rear wheel differential but is nevertheless a separate component.

Yes I like this button because I do not use the AUTO mode: only 2WD, or LOCK when necessary.
SInce I have also a Kia SOrento, I know KIA (and Hyundai) have also a lock button. FOr other makes, others will tell.
