I'm considering buying of 2003 Suzuki Liana 4WD with automatic transmission.

Seller says that 4WD is not working at the moment. Only front wheel drive works. Any ideas what could be wrong with 4WD? What to check first? Would it cost a lot of money to repair this kind of problems?

Price is very cheap, so if fix is not too difficult/expensive, I really would like to buy this car. Or should I just continue and search for another Liana.

I got more information. Former owner has used different sized tyres, what has caused the break down. Maybe some wheel or gear (I don't know the terms in English) has broken and lost it's teeth? Is it expensive and difficult to replace?

At the moment universal joint (kardaani axel?) is uninstalled and car is working as front wheel drive. But this is not okay for the MOT which is soon ahead.

Any ideas, is it worth to buy the car and fix it?
