I own a 2011 Kizashi SLS with 18 inch wheels and tires. I have had an issue with excessive inside tire wear on all four tires. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what is the fix. I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me as the dealer and manufacturer will not take any responsibility for tires wearing out prematurely.

Hi, have you had a wheel alignment done at all since taking delivery of the vehicle new?

A number of people have had similar experiences- the alignment may have been "out" from the factory, but it is one of those things that is supposed to be regularly checked.

Murcod is right. Get it aligned with the updated specs and then it wouldn't be a bad idea to get it aligned frequently just to be sure. If you get it aligned a couple years in a row and it's in specs, you could stretch the interval.

tire wear

I have a 2011 Suzuki Kizashi with only 16,000 miles. I recently went to my mechanic with another issue and he showed me that my tires are all worn down to the steel belt. He told me that I need to replace them immediately b/c they are dangerous to drive on. (The original warranty has already expired on the car and wouldn't have covered tires in any case). I have used my mechanic for over 30 years and he has never steered me wrong so I replaced the tires. I then contacted Suzuki since by any stretch of the imagination 16,000 miles of regular street and highway driving should not wear the tires out.
Suzuki paid me half of the cost of my tires (only half b/c I had not kept the old tires and they paid me half b/c I had purchased Goodyear tires to replace the old tires.)

My Kiz with 75k miles is on at least it's third set of tires and this set has 20k on them and are more than 50% gone and it was aligned at the same time the tires were put on. :(. At least I can say I bought the tires from the same place that aligned it and they have also rotated the tires every 5000 miles. At this last rotation I told them to make sure they noted the tire wear.

I worked at the Suzuki Techical Center when the Kizashi was in development. EVERY single Kizashi with 18" tires would be shredded on the inside fronts by 19,000 miles when we tested the cars. I believe it is due to extreme compliance of the front suspension bushings. I don't think there s much you can do about it. We had alignments done over and over, but the tires would still shred.

I picked up my 2011 SLS with about 33K miles on them and the tires were showing some, repeat some wear on inside of both rear tires. I got it aligned and they lasted me until 45K before I replaced them. This tells me that if you get a good alignment, even the much maligned factory tires will last quite awhile. I'm not easy on them, either.

Kizashi's eat tires, get alignment checks often

My 2011 SLS I purchased new needs aligned once a year like clockwork. Im on effectively my 4th set of tires (Because when I dont get them aligned in time they eat the tires to steel belts) and I have 87K miles on the car. One of few things I dislike about it. Taking to the Tire shop guy he said although hes seen very few kizashis they all have this issue, them and jeep liberty's. lol.
