Hey guys, I want to get some help, I just came across and bought a 1985 SJ410 with 1.0 engine and 4 speed tranny. It is all original, with 0nly 66k miles, but it has a bad transmission in it. I was told buy a few Sammy enthusiast not to mess it up and sell it to someone to restore as it was the last year they were made before the samurai . My plans is that I wanted to flip the axles, install 31 inch tires and a turbo 1.6 diesel. So should I sell it and look for a different zuki to work on , or should I work on the sj410.

A Samurai would make a better base for what you want to do, the 410 has narrower weaker axles and a different transmission. It would be a shame to cut up a nice 410.
