Hi, I wonder if there is anyone who could help me?
I have a Jimny 1.3 16v 02 plate that has developed a very fast idle when warm. When I start the car from cold, it ticks over nicely around 1500rpm, but when the engine gets warm it rises to 2000+ rpm.
I have checked all the connections and vacuum pipes and such, they all seem fine. I think I have narrowed it down to the fast idle controller on the throttle body. As if I cover the small hole inside the throttle that runs to the controller, the tick-over drops back to normal (around 800rpm).
Now looking at the screws that hold the controller onto the throttle body, they seem to need a special tool (my torx heads don’t fit). So is there any way it can be taken off to clean, or is it not advisable?

I'm not very familiar with Jimny's but I assume that's the M13 engine.

If so the workshop manual doesn't refer any special tools for those screws and a photo I found just shows cross-head ones.

Thanks for the info. The screws I'm referring to are the ones on the motor itself. I think they may be 5 star Torx screws, but I'm not sure.
