I had not paid attention to the idea of an immobilizer until someone in a recent thread on another forum forced me to pay special attention ,....so I looked more intensely in the user manual...and it implied there was one....finally saw the little logo on the instrument panel....I had never noticed...
The book said not to have anything metallic around the key cause it would block reading the code.....consequently… I did exactly that: wrapped an aluminium foil around the key...then tried to start. The immo logo kept flashing and the car would not start...starter turning the engine, but obviously, no spark, no fuel....removed the foil, started again...then all came back normal. ANd this is a KEYSTART, not a push button......it needs the code. So a blank key would not start it unless the original with the code is somewhere nearby.

It is always time to learn something.....
