hey i was down at the river the other day and had a boo boo...i was drivin thru some water and had my head out the window to make sure it wasnt too deep...once it got to the bottom of the doors it stopped gettin deeper so i kept goin. a few seconds later i realized i was floatin but then it stalled. i then opened the door and thats when i sunk. the water level ended up right at the bottom of the lights and about a inch from the exhaust ports of my engine. i thought for sure it was flooded but when i pushed it out it crunk right up a water flew out my tail pipe...it was perty cool. anyways, everything is fine except now my battery is gettin grounded out somewhere so it dies when i park it overnight. it doesnt die when i unplug the power source connector (wire with a connector that comes straight off the terminal). any ideas on an easy way to find my problem. oh yeh and my engine light gives me 42, and 12 codes. thanks

this is why florida does not allow the resale of the cars flooded by the hurricanes. I would start with checking relays for shorts as they are sensitive to water. It does not take much of a rust streak to allow voltage to flow.
next I would seperate all the connectors and clean them with contact cleaner and air pressure. repack the connector with dielectric grease, this will help stop further corrosion and water proof the connector.
whenever I steam clean an engine at the shop I run the engine after for a few hours to throughly dry water.
I think the 42 code is the crankshart posion sensor fault and 12 code is the normal signal.
