Just what is a transmission brake piston c seal?

Automatic or manual trans part for instance?

A more specific discpription or the problem symptoms defined may help here.

My car lost overdrive, it's a auto. It drives OK in 3 but when u put it in od it bucks real bad and won't shift into od, my scanner gave me a brake piston c failure code, I was wondering if I could replace this myself.

This SOUNDS like an internal brake band issue. :(

Automatic transmission brake bands

There is also the possibility that the servo, switch or wiring that controls this brake function may be faulty.

You really need an expert Transmission Shop diagnosis and probable repair on this one. On top of that, we have NO idea as to your level of technical expertise and tool arsenal available to you.

I have a better than average mechanical background, but I don't really have alot of internal transmission experience, the cheapest quote I could get was $1400, so that's why I was wondering if I could just replace it. Is there any diagrams where I can see the internals and find the location of the brake piston

I don't have any manuals on this model. You may find a thread / link elsewhere in this section though that has them.
