We have a 99 Vitara 2.0L and we think it's the EGR valve that is causing the problem. We have like 9 different codes the computer is pulling. Everything was fine one day and the next the vehicle won't hardly run at all. We are trying to replace the Egr valve but due to the location is a pain in the butt. Does anyone have any tricks to remove it?

You have cascading casualties (codes) in all likelihood, one triggering another.

I'd reboot the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a minute then drive and scan for codes at the same time to see what errors-out (in order). Borrow or buy (they are cheap) a code scanner, in other words.

Your problem may not even be the EGR!

And I'd do all of this with first ensuring a proper tune (plugs, filters and a dose of fuel system cleaner / additive like SeaFoam) or you may just end up chasing your tail, so to speak.

And welcome aboard! :)
