Hi

I have a Suzuki Vitara JX 4U soft-top 1.6 petrol V reg that has been stood for a couple of years and now it won't start......It was running fine when I last drove it, before it was parked up and stored.

It turns over perfectly, but just won't fire. I've put new fuel in, but this made no difference, so I've got some easy start in the hope that that may work. Only thing is, I can't find the air intake???.....Is anybody able to tell me where it will be located and what it looks like (...or maybe a pic)?

Also, whilst under the bonnet, I noticed two pipes to the coolant tank; one to the radiator and the other just hanging down. I presume the hanging pipe is just for overflow?

Thanks

Is the Check Engine Light flashing? if it is then the immo has lost synchronisation with the ECU.

Hi Rhinoman

Thanks for the assistance

Yeah, I think the check engine light was flashing. Would this be simple enough to fix and is it something that I could do myself?

Thanks.

Its a specialist repair job, it needs the memory chips removing from the ECU and immo and recoding and then the key(s) need to be matched to the immo. I've done lots of these, If you want me to take a look at it then email me at [email protected]

If you have more than one key then check to see if the other key works. Also is the key intact? I have had two of these jobs where someone has drilled a hole in the key and damaged the transponder.
