Hey folks,

I just bought a 2009 SX4 Hatchback (U.S.), and after driving it ~150 miles the CEI came on with the code P0420.

P0420 is for "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)"

The person I bought the car from gave me brand new O2 sensors. From what I've seen on the forum, this CEI is probably indicating that I need to replace the CAT, but I figured I might as well replace the sensors since I have them.

I replaced the A/F (Upstream) sensor easily enough, but I'm having trouble with the Heated O2 Sensor. I can unscrew it no problem, but I have no idea where the wire is running.

Could anyone tell me where the connector is for this sensor? I'm not familiar with the engine bay layout yet, and can't find the connector.

Thanks for everything!

The sensor connects under the car some place....
It's only accessible from underneath. It's about the middle of the oil pan.
I've replaced my cat and that rear sensor. It un-plugs and plugs in pretty easily.
But from underneath.
Best practice if your changing the cat is to install the sensor into the pipe before you install the cat.
A set of ramps is enough height to do this.
