I have a 88' zuki with a 32/36 weber,header,and 2" exhaust.Im running 225's now and im wanting to raise enough to get 31's but was wondering how bad my gas mileage would be?? Im getting 23-24 mpg now.I dont get off road much so this will be highway miles.

To be honest, if your weber is giving you plenty of power now you may not see much of a difference until you hit the long hills. Although you will be pushing more weight, you will also be going farther per tire rotation (farther/faster). If it seems that the weber/header/exhaust doesn't make up the power you will probably be looking to change some gearing to alow those tires to turn a bit easier. Just going to 31's can be as simple as swapping to 4.16:1 or 4.89:1 transfer case gears. At that point you will lose a little but it won't be much. Both of my sammy's get mid 20's and the little one is running 31's.

Really?I thought i'd loose quite a bit but thats why I ask the pro's,lol.I have almost double the power than I had before I did all my upgrades.Here in Tennessee you dont see many zuk's and when you do its on a farm ran down.Mine is almost mint and has 118,ooo original miles.People are always asking me at red lights if I want to sell it and tell them hell no!lol.I have asked before but what exactly do I need to do to get 31's under my zuk?The cheapest way out that is?Also,what rim size would be right for such an application?thanks

There is an old addage that I have changed a little to reflect todays upgrades.
Three rules to upgrade.
1. You can get it cheap.
2. You can get it safe.
3. You can get it easy.
But you can only choose two of the three.

The cheap stuff that is easy to bolt on is not always safe.
The safe stuff that is easy to bolt on is not always cheap.
The safe stuff that is cheap to install is not easy because you will need the knowledge, ablity and equipment to fabricate it yourself.

Do you really want your steering and suspension to rely on the lowest bidder?

Tell us what your true budget is.

I have run 8x15 steel rims on my zooks since I started. And I have moved from stock tires to 31x10.50 to 32x11.50 to 33x12.50 tires. No problems.

Budget?lol thats a good question now days.I was hoping no more than a couple hundred bucks?Am I way off?lol.I can do most of the work ,im fairly good with my hands but I have not had any dealings with lifts but I have heard that they are not too bad to do on the zuk's????????I dont need anything over the top just enough to get my 31's I want.

Many of the vendors have kits, but they are not always complete. Usually the cheaper the kit, the less complete it is.
You can go SPOA or spring reversal. For SR, just get the kit from Calmini. It is a good one. For SPOA you can get a kit at most of the vendors but make sure it addresses at least the following:

Spring perches
Ubolts
Brake lines
Steering solution
Shocks
Drive shaft spacers

They are all required to get the vehicle the 4 to 5 inches of clearance for 31's.

I have heard about the SPOA kits.Aren't they kinda pricey and somewhat complicated to install??

A friend just lifted his jeep and it cost him $3800 US. Zooks are cheaper.

As far as complicated, it probably should not be attempted by yourself without someone that has done it before, or a mechanic. With only one exception, all the kits require welding.

Easy would be the SR kit from Calmini.

Wow,$3800! Yep,thats out of my budget!lol.I have seen the Calmini kits at Rock-Road.com but I didnt know what I really needed.I just want to make my zuki look and ride good but didnt want to go broke doing it you know.After I get this project done I want to look at some seats cause my factory seats suck!I have a tuffy box in the center so I cant get to wide.I have seen some in Jegs for about $170 that look cool but Im not sure how they would fit with my tuffy box?

The best way to do it is to call the vendors and have them put togeter a package with all you need. It should cost under $500 to do it well. Still a better deal than other vehicle types.

Seats...
I know what you mean about the Tuffy console. I won't give mine up either.

what kind of seats is that in the 1st pic?The racing seats in the bottom pic I have thought of but how comfy are they?My factory seat have just seen there better days.

those pics were from a review article I did when Tuffy changed the width of the center console for those of us that went to aftrmarket seats. The first pic is of stock seats and the second is of RCI seats. That was back in 2001 or so.

OH,WELL I DO HAVE THE OLDER TYFFY BOX.i REMEMBER SEEING WHERE THEY MADE IT SMALLER.THANKS FOR YOU HELP.
