Hi, We have just bought a 1992 swb vitara soft-top and the fuel gauge is not working can anyone please tell me which fuse No. it is and what amp please as no manual.

Also is it a garage job to replace fuel tank or can it be done yourself. We have changed rear prop today and for some bizarre reason it passed it's MOT last week before we bought it, to me its a death trap to the other half it's a 'project'. Thanks Jane

The connections to the top of the fuel tank often give problems as a result of corrosion. The fuel tank can be dropped without too much difficulty if the bolts aren't too badly corroded.

Fuse box diagram for US models (but should be the similar) in post 5 here:

The fuel gauge works off the ig-coil fuse, as does the entire dash, so if your other gauges or dash lights are working, then the fuse won't be the problem. However, it does have its own ground - the black/yellow wire, which normally grounds out somewhere above the fuse box under the dash.
