My new Reno has 25 miles on the odometer when I bought it. I took it out for a spin on the highway, and got 35 mpg while going 65 mph. The gas gauge stayed on or above the full line for over 100 miles. After driving 150 miles, I filled it up again.

Yeah, I like that.

I keep maticulous records on my Pocket-PC of our mileage. To date:

Since April 2004 - '04 Chevrolet Optra5 Automatic

Fills: 40
CDN Spent: $1,170.32
Litres: 1420.726
KMS: 14691.00
MILES: 9181.88
Avg MPG (US): 24.43
Avg MPG (IMP): 29.41
$ Per Litre: $0.824

The grand majority of these km's have been highway on Canadian Hwy #1 at typically 120 km/h in most cases (not average, but at cruising speed). City driving is absolutely brutal for gas mileage with this 2.0L engine. To give you an idea, I'll offer you my worst mileage figure, and my best.

Exclusively city driving in a 17 day period at the end of December:
275 kms from 43.646 Litres
My figures:
14.89 MPG (US)
17.92 MPG (IMP)

Exclusively highway driving in one stretch the middle of May:
511 kms from 36.514 Litres
My figures:
33.06 MPG (US)
39.80 MPG (IMP)

For comparison sake, I also pulled these numbers in June:
33.33 MPG (US)
40.12 MPG (IMP)
However, these were from only 216 kms using 15.312 Litres. I didn't use these figures as my best because it was a relatively short distance on the highway between gas stations.

Highway driving is not too bad at all, and would probably be much higher if I wasn't cruising at 120+ kms/h most of the time. City mileage sucks terribly. I pulled better numbers (20+ MPG) with the 3.4L DOHC V6 I used to own in a 3400 lb. coupe.
