Hi folks,

Picked up my V-reg Jimny yesterday and drove it 500 miles. I have to say it was much more comfortable long distance than I was expecting.

I filled the tank completely and then set off, driving at pretty much 55-65mph all the way. It managed exactly 117 miles when the fuel guage hit the half way mark. Does that sound about right to you folks? I'm guessing a tank range of about 200 miles from that.

The engine sounds nice, starts fine and idles very steadily at 900rpm.

I had difficulties on a sheet of ice this morning, but since I took it on to ice so slippery that the car slid backwards and sideways from stationary I'm guessing that can be forgiven!

That sounds like pretty good economy for a Jimny. I once drove from High wycombe to Edinburg in a Jimny, going via all the back roads. It took 9 hours but I didn't have any problems, despite having a bad back at the time.

OK, today I let the fuel run right down and it hit the empty line with reserve still to go at 256 miles, which I thought was pretty good.

Unfortunately there is another issue to be covered in my next thread :(
