Can anyone tell me how to adjust the front brakes (drum/shoes) on my sons 1984 543 cc Alto? There is a hole in the drum (complete with rubber bung), which lines up with a nut/bolt on each shoe. With the drum off, these nuts and bolts move in a slot on the shoe. The end of the bolt sits in a welded enclosure on the back plate. Am I right in thinking the cylinders push the shoes out, and the friction between these nuts and bolts hold them lightly against the inside of the drum? Or do I need to get a special socket or box-spanner to fit through the small hole in the drum? And what good would that do anyway?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Regards, Alvar.
