I want to thank everyone who responded to my post regarding rear wheel bearing replacement for my 88 Samurai JX. Your advice was "on point" and I'm giving copies of all of the responses to my mechanic.
So here's another question. The Suzuki dealer told me that I would need these parts: 2-wheel bearings, 2-rear shaft spacers, 2-ring bearing retainers,
2-oil seals and 2- oil seal protectors ($154.79 total) to rebuild the rear axles.
Does this sound right?
Note:the axles are original and the truck is 21 years old with 137K

As far as I know, and I just did my rear bearings a few weeks ago, the bearing comes with the retainer sleeve and you only need the seal (1 per side). I'm not sure what the other parts are but I don't think you need them and I could be wrong.
