Hello again,

My 1.3L sierra has developed a problem that appears to be getting worse.

Going around tightish corners the engine sort of jumps and jerks, power dies. I look like an idiot and it sometimes occurs when taking off at intersections, not in the least convenient in a tight spot. What could be causing this? I'm running premium fuel 96ron and stock 1.3L.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Check that the engine and gearbox mountings are good. Then check all wires connected to the engine, particularly the ground connection to the distributor.

let me make sure we understand, you only have a engine power issue when you turn sharp corners?
Yes, thats why i think its a fuel surge or something. I'm talking about around 90 degree intersections and such. You put your foot into it and you get coughs and splutters as though theres no fuel getting to it. Air filter is fine, and the fuel filter is something I will check.

Cheers

If an engine mount is broken then the engine will move around more and can pull on the wiring. The ground lead to the dizzy seems to be the one that gives most problems.
