I have an 88 Samurai that broke down on me while going down the freeway. It seems that I need to replace the 3rd member. I have a replacement from a 92. I'm curious. Is it easier to swap out the whole rear end, or should I just swap the 3rd member?
What's the easiest way to swap out the 3rd member? I've never had to do this before.

Thanks in advance :)

If you have a complete 92 rear and your Zuke is stock swap the unit.
If not. Pull the wheels / drums / backing plates / after removing the brake lines / pop the shafts out using a slide hammer/ pull the center / replace with new / use a dial indicator to set the lash.
This is abbreviated at best. Get a manual .
Not a tough job bu it must be done correctly or disaster will ensue .
