Well you do have a choice......

You can either rebuild your CV joint, (the least expensive) or you can just replace the Half-Shaft. I've done both in years past.

So it all depends on your level of Mechanical Expertise.

If you're a good mechanic, you can probably do the job yourself, otherwise, take your car to a good mechanic and pay to have the job done.

There are not many choices......

CV shafts should be able to go very high mileages. My 1988 Forsa still has it's originals. The main issue with them is the rubber boots= if one has a tear- sand, salt or water can get in leading to premature failure. Keeping an eye on these is important.

during cold mornings turning right I have gotten clicking on both my AWD Autmatics - it is only when cold and not all the time - I was told by the dealer no worries - it is normal - no wear was seen and no problems - that was years ago
