Hi All,

First time posting.... I recently bought a Alto 1.1. F10D engine. it has 56k on it and while changing the timing belt my mechanic noticed there may be excessive end play in the crankshaft. Has anyone ever had this issue before? or does anyone know the specs for how much play there should be?

There's no unusual noises or knocking at all but, when i first did an oil change i noticed the oil had turned to sludge... there was still plenty of liquid oil in there, it just must not have been done very often, I'm guessing dirt could cause wear and excessive play in the crankshaft?

any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Considering the reported condition of the oil, I suggest a couple of short changes with a high detergent oil.. As it has no troubling noises, drive it and enjoy..
