ok since im a newbie here these might be newbie questionsso easy with the lashes.
I use my sammy on a farm to check cattle and drive around. Now that there is mud a foot deep and keep getting stuck, ive been in a search looking for tractor tires that will fit the 15 inch rims i have. Has anyone done this kind of jimmy rigging?
The other question is will i be able to tow anything without pullin that bar off the back? I found out i cant pull much but would the rear end be able to hold up with weight pushing and pulling against it? The other part is the brakes. These brakes look like they belong on my sons bigwheel car, are there bigger brake kits out there? Just want to be able to make sure she stops when i need her to.:eek:

I forgot to say i replaced the old top with the bikini, windjammer, and duster top and that was the best thing ive done so far. Its so much better to drive around with a well heated cockpit instead of trying to heat the whole unit up. Every little thing works when its 0 to 20 degrees out.

I have seen zook folks install tires from the larger quads and tractor tires. They just recommend that you don't try to drive them on the street at any speed like that. The zook is light enough, try it out.

The stock bar on the back DOES have a place to mount a tow ball, but I have bent enough to know thatitreally isn't there to be a strong tow point. I would suggest replacing the rear bumper with an aftermarket component that hasa 2" receiver built in. You will be much happier with the strength of the tow point.



For brakes, there are conversion kits to swap the rear drums for front discs. It involves adding a new proportioning valve to even it out, but it saves on pads and stops much quicker.

for mud, a tall skinny tire is good. If you put anything on it larger than a 30" you'll need to probably lift it. The stock rims are great for running narrow tires. They'll easily take an 8.50 or 9.50.

ahh yes, the tire religion wars...
IMHO you want a wide tire so you don't sink. Deep mud will suck you down with skinny rubbers. A narrow tire will let you dig down to the solid stuff. Sounds great unless you don't have enough ground clearance. If your mud is a foot deep you should have about a foot ground clearance...
A wide tire gives you less pounds per square inch pushing down, making you more likely to float on top. Kinda like snow. Ever notice how a shopping cart wheel pushes into the snow? Imagine a soft balloon in the same snow.
A wide spinning tire will not let you down.
Why do you think tanks don't sink? The tracks spread out the weight.
Friends don't let friends use pizza cutters. ;)
