After browsing many other threads it seems like I have a slightly different problem. My Climate Control Panel is not illuminated nor functioning to control heat/AC. I pulled the blower and tested it, works fine. I checked all fuses and they seem to be fine. Any suggestions on what to try next? All other electrical systems appear to be fine.

Problem persists

To continue my own thread... the problem is not solved. Apparently the climate control unit is on the same circuit as the back up lights. The fuse blows when put in reverse and I lose my AC. I've seen some stuff about a reverse light switch needing to be replaced, but not sure 1) where that is and 2) if that is the culprit. Anyone had a similar issue? I assume if not, there is a short somewhere in the circuit. I've tested the back up lights and fixtures and they appear to be functioning fine.

Think the sportback is 2.0L

Info from the 2.0L workshop manual.
I'd remove the back-up bulbs and check the switch and cable for a short to ground/earth with a multimeter first.
