I bought a 88 Samurai (USA) a couple months ago that had the Toyota 3k carb kit on it. Would switching out for a ZOR MY-SIDE-1 side HD carb kit be an upgrade or not worth it? I know the 1.3L are under powered, but am wondering if I could get a little more juice out of it with the side draft setup. I currently just use it around town and don't live in a state that has strict emissions standards. Looking around I haven't found a lot of user reviews or thoughts on the HD carb upgrades. I'm also open to other carb setups that might be better.

Stay with the 3k carb, that's about the best you will get that's reliable and simple and will give you about as much as these engines will produce without serious engineering work.
going to a side sucker means a new manifold and isnt going to achieve anything

Ok that's good to know. I don't want to waste $ if there isn't going to be any gain.
