what is the best fuel to use for my jimny? i have the 2006 automatic model. my hubby suggests that the higher the octane, the better it is for the jimny. he also prefers the premium fuel of caltex. is this true? what fuel do you use? ;)

I use 94 octaine in all my cars. In Japan 94 octaine is the lowest octaine you can purchase(they run on very high octaine there) since most suzuki's are built in Japan and shipped here I would tend to think their engines are still
set up for more octaine.

You need to check the handbook to see what the minimum recommended octane rating is, its probably 92-94 octane RON. If you have a G13BB engine then there is no knock sensor and the ignition timing is fixed so there are no benefits to be gained from running a higher octane fuel. If you have the M13 engine then you may have a knock sensor which means that the ECU can adapt to run more efficiently on a higher octane fuel.
