So I did the unthinkable. I was tightening the battery hold down while the engine was running on my 03 xl7 when the wrench slipped and shorted against the positive battery terminal. The engine stopped and now wont crank. Everything else appears to be ok. when I turn the key to the run position, all seems good till I try to start. everything turns off when I go to start (Expected while cranking) but the starter wont crank. Hoping the comunity has a nice simple fix for me. Any ideas? Checked the underhood fuses and all in tact. Thanks in advance.

Just jumped it. Success! I didnt think it was the battery cause all the electricals worked and with my experience if there isnt enough power the starter will click rapidly. Since there was nothing when I tried to crank I thought I fried something major. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated. I used to drive vws and their forums arent near as kind and helpful lol. Thanks again. And again! Lol
