hi i have a year 2000 suzuki jimny and it has a auto gearbox.

My problem started randomly before was working fine, the gearbox does not upshift or down shift.

when i start the car to go and drive in D it will go straight to gear two or three very hard to get accelerating then it wont shift gears up or down when accelerator is floored.

also if i start the car and immediatly hit gear one it the vehicle starts to move in gearone then it will upshift very harsh into gear two, and wont go to gear three or down shift again.

Also changing the gears manualy have no effect while driving slow or fast hit 2nd or first and it wont down shift.

im thinking its an ecu problem as the gearbox was working fine a few days ago with no slip.

i checked all wiring even under the gearbox.

could the ecu be in limp mode? There is no check engine light on.

Thanks!

How is your fluid, sometimes the fluid can cause some problems. While your changing it you can see if there's any metal bits in the pan. If there are any pieces you have a serious problem. If not then you know its probably something else. Its good to change it anyways.

jimny auto transmission problems

i have a 2001 jimny. i was driving one night and all of sudden the auto transmission just neutral out. from then on when i move off and it hits 2500 rpm it neutrals out and if i keep the rev constant it jumps in 1st gear and doesnt change.
if i am going down hill i can pick up speed in 1st gear, then switch off and on the ignition and it revs and slips to 2nd gear with continual slipage.
can anyone tell me what is the problem? pulled the oil case and there was metal shaving on the magnet
